What is Viagra?

Every time you hear the word “Viagra” your sexual senses get aroused. Your blood starts circulating above the normal rate. The reason is simply that of the popularity of this drug in the global market. Many times you come across with the word “Viagra” through various sources like the magazine, internet, television, etc. Viagra as many of us know is a drug name originally termed as Sildenafil Citrate that has been used for curing erectile disinfection or impotence.
But still, many questions always prevail about the usage of Viagra.

Is it fruitful in deriving results? What will happen if someone takes an overdose? What precaution should one consider before its consumption? What are the side effects? Does it provide complete satisfaction in sex life for long periods? Does it permanently remove impotence among men?
Many renowned consultants and doctors advise consuming Viagra about an hour before actually going for sexual activity. They also note that the drug only performs only when the man is sexually aroused.

History

Sildenafil citrate, being as popular as Viagra, was developed by Pfizer pharmaceutical company. It was patented in 1996. The idea by the company was to create a pill that can cure Angina (a heart disease), but during the evolution, it was found that the drug is capable enough to enhance the penile erection among male. This discovery made the company to advertise the drug as a primary remedy to cure impotence among men and Viagra was a success thereby.

Side Effects

Though Viagra is vastly simplified for driving sexual feelings, there are some mild side-effects if not taken with precaution. Some of them that are associated with the user are a headache, rashes, urinary infection, congestion in the nose and can sometimes cause blurred vision also. It is always mandatory to consume the pill as per the doctor’s advice, but still, it has been advertised widely in TV as an herbal drug.

Growing Popularity

Though associated with many mild side-effects the demand of Viagra is continuously increasing. It is not only used by men to fight impotence but is used as a significant drug to improve the quality of sex life. The sales are growing year by year, and the usage age group is getting lower and lower. After the above information, I can say that for many Viagra can be a boon but with associated side-effects, it can be stated as a curse in the long run.
